"Don't Be A Stranger" is an independent, short film that explores love, grief, and what it means to really know someone.
The film follows four people who come to their old hideout to grieve the loss of their friend. A stranger wanders into their midst as they quickly discover who they know and who they don’t.
This project was fueled by passion, coffee, and bagels, just like the old guard of filmmakers intended.
JULIA MARIE BLACK

Julia Marie Black (she/her) is an actor, playwright, lyricist, and screenwriter based in NY, NY. She currently has several plays and musicals in development, including a play entitled "Everything Feels Like the End of the World" and "Krampus: A Winter Suite", which she wrote with composer Niklas Dahlen. Some of her recent roles include Juliet in "Romeo and Juliet" at the Marietta Summer Theatre Festival and Helene in "Sweet Charity". Outside of performing and writing, Julia is a social media marketing coordinator and personal assistant with KMEntertainment.

Chelsea Bolles (she/her) is a New York based, interdisciplinary actor and singer with experience in theatre, commercial, and film. Some of her favorite projects have been "YOU" music video by Off Road Minivan, "Oklahoma!" at SUNY New Paltz, and now this ("Don't Be A Stranger"), which she also produced. Chelsea has recently completed masterclasses with the Bernard Hiller Acting & Success Studio, and is excited and dedicated to constantly becoming a better person and actor than she was yesterday.

Patrick Saint Ange aka Saint Parrk (he/him) is a NY-based actor and musician. Saint is a multi-instrumentalist with a jazz and theater background. He hopes to bring a fun and likable presence to his character jake who, despite losing a close friend, tries to find room for to look on the brightside.

Andrew Ajaka (he/him) is a Lebanese, NYC based Director/Actor/Theatre Artist who will be graduating from Binghamton University in the spring of 2022 with a BA in Theatre and concentrations in Acting and Directing. He is incredibly grateful to be a part of this project and to have had such a great time creating with this cast and crew. He hopes that his art always lives in service of his heart and in honor of those who have come before him and given him the strength to get to this point.

David Black is a professional entertainer, educator, actor and magician. David holds degrees in Theater and Psychology from Binghamton University and is an Order of Merlin member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. David is currently President of the Southern Tier Magic Circle. Though he has performed for over 30 years in such far away places as Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain and Bermuda, he most frequently performs in upstate New York and northern Pennsylvania. Theatrical credits include: Miquel de Cervantes/Don Quixote in Man of LaMancha, Joe Hardy in Damn Yankees, Lancelot in Camelot, and most recently Clement Musgrove in The Robber Bridegroom. David has also been a featured reader for the Celebrity Read-Along DVD playing at the Discovery Center™ BOOKS and Beyond Readers™ Theater and the Greater Binghamton Airport. In addition to performing, David enjoys helping young people discover the wonder of magic, theater, and the variety arts. He is currently the Director of the Learn To Amaze Magic Academy.

Evelyn Oliver (she/her) is a theatre artist and fighter with experience on stage and film. She has studied and been successsfully adjudicated by the SAFD in 6 weapon disciplines and loves to fight coach, choreograph, coordinate, and captain a variety of projects; one of her favorites being "Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson" at SUNY Fredonia. In addition to kicking butt, she enjoys taking proverbial names, gardening, and foraging outdoors.

Seth Magliola (he/him) is a NY based Ceramics Artist and host of the newly founded podcast "Penny For Your Thoughts". Seth was happy to work sound for this film, and despite it being his first time operating a boom mic, he likes to believe that he "crushed it". Though he claims not to be an actor, Seth has done background work and small roles for a few short films and online series as well as for a music video that his girlfriend Chelsea (above) starred in.
